Daikon Root, 2025

Assorted discarded fabrics, wood caning, ground cochineal dye

Daikon Root is a collaborative performance piece in the form of a harvest parade. Members of the Williamstown community gathered on May 4th 2025, to carry a large wearable purple daikon sculpture up Stone Hill (Williamstown, MA).

The collaborative performance incorporated music and a sharing of homemade radish pickles. The event was made possible by the help of many collaborators and peers, whom cheerfully came together on the rainy spring day. The piece is dedicated to the collective of individuals that make up a sense of joyous community in Williamstown.

Special thanks to Beneyam Hassen and Beza Lulseged for photography assistance, and to Fior Cecci-Rivas for videography.
